Robin Roberts gets the love
A day after announcing she suffers from the rare blood disorder MDS, or myelodysplastic syndrome, Good Morning America cohost Robin Roberts thanked fans Tuesday for their messages of support and love.
"I slept like a baby last night for the first night since my diagnosis," Roberts said on her show. "My family and I are overwhelmed and comforted by the response from everyone."
Roberts, 51, received notes from boldfacers including Katie Couric, Kristin Chenoweth, Josh Groban, Gayle King, Rob Lowe, and Ann Romney, wife of GOP presidential hopeful Mitt Romney.
GMA cohost George Stephanopoulos read a tweet from first lady Michelle Obama: "Barack and I have you in our prayers. We believe in you and thank you for bringing awareness and hope to others."
Rendell's new job: Granddad
Congratulations to former Philly Mayor and Pa. Gov. Ed Rendell, 68, who has became a grandfather for the first time. On Monday, Rendell's son, Jesse, and daughter-in-law, Beka Nave, welcomed a boy, Dean.
Jesse is an entertainment lawyer and a former rocker: He toured with the alt-rock band Don't Look Down before going for his law degree. Beka runs event-planning company Innove Events. They married in September 2008.
Don't call me R-Patz
