'Duck' Vegas show seems a bit daffy

THE ROBERTSON family of "Duck Dynasty" is bringing its faith and family values to the capital of sin: Las Vegas.
And they're doing it in the form of a musical.
So don't worry, Sadie. When you get voted off "Dancing with the Stars," you have a job waiting for you as Vegas' least naked showgirl.
The New York Times reported that the Robertsons are looking to expand their duck-call empire with "The Duck Commander Family Musical," opening in February at the Rio Hotel and Casino.
Wrote reporter Patrick Healy in the Times: "Even before rehearsals start, the show is courting controversy. Several Broadway producers, many of whom are liberal, gay or both, are aghast that colleagues would work with a family whose patriarch, Phil Robertson, has compared homosexuality to bestiality. Gay-rights leaders are also eyeing the show with concern, while evangelical Christians - many of whom admire the Robertsons - might be hesitant to go to a Las Vegas casino and see whether New York artists have fairly rendered the family."
"We've enjoyed the process of making a musical alongside the team who is interested in telling the Robertson family story from an outside perspective," said Willie Robertson, co-author, with wife, Korie, of the book that's the basis for the show.
"I think the expectation is that it'll be all chicken-pickin' stuff and banjos, but what we're trying to do is pull out as much heart, humor and sincerity as we can to keep people surprised," show composer Steven Morris said. (They should have hired Drake.)
But many people in the theater community are not especially fond of the show idea (News flash: There are gay people in the theater) due to Robertson's anti-gay remarks in GQ magazine.
"The family has become symbolic of a much larger and somewhat dangerous problem of what we're seeing in America - this issue of homophobia being masked as a religious value," Sarah Kate Ellis, president of GLAAD, told the Times.
Director Jeff Calhoun ("Newsies"), who is gay and was offended by Robertson's remarks, says the musical will address them and hopes the show "could bridge some gaps."
As for possible songs, how about "Duck Be a Lady" and "With a Little Bit of Duck"?
Swift, Perry Round 2
Diplo, the rumored main squeeze of Taylor Swift-hating Katy Perry, wasn't very Diplo-matic Wednesday when he tweeted that "Someone should make a kickstarter to get Taylor Swift a booty."
He even linked to a Fundly page for the joke cause, reported Fox News.
But Taylor's BFF Lorde didn't look upon Diplo's "joke" too Fundly.
She tweeted back: "Should we do something about your tiny penis while we're at it hm."
