IIT'S TIME to announce the 10 winners of the Daily News' third annual, Oprah-style My Favorite Things holiday-gift giveaway.

Awardees, along with their family members and the people who nominated them, will be recognized at a reception next week at the Daily News, where we will give the winners cosmetics, jewelry, Coach moccasins, a pair of fashionable rainboots, gift certificates for some yummy treats, a Philly-centric tree ornament, vouchers to attend the Pennsylvania Ballet's Nutcracker and more. Each prize package is worth more than $1,000.

Thank you to everyone who nominated deserving neighbors, friends and co-workers. We had a couple of hundred entries, and narrowing the list down to just 10 names was a challenge.

I read every email and letter. Some of the stories you shared made me cry. Others reminded me about all the self-sacrificing angels who live among us, asking for nothing but always ready to give of themselves. It's been my great joy to give a little something back to them.

We'll share their stories in the paper on Christmas Eve and you will see why each deserved a gift package. They are Nina Denis, Carol Flanagan, Susan Galloza, Dewona Gonzalez, Melissa Hubmaster, Darlene King, Rene Kotarba, Kevin Kush, Taylor Mallory and Mattie Wilder.
