The Boys and Girls Clubs of Philadelphia on Oct. 18 welcomed back Shane Victorino and his family to celebrate and raise money for the Victorino Boys and Girls Clubhouse in Philadelphia. The event, a reception for the Bold Change Kids campaign, was held at the Union League in Philadelphia and was attended by more than 100 people. Speaking about their desire to transform the lives of children were Victorino, who played for the Phillies from 2005 to 2012; David L. Cohen, senior executive vice president of Comcast and lead chairman of the Bold Change Kids campaign; and Lisabeth Marziello, co-CEO of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Philadelphia. The evening featured cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and live music, and raised about $55,000 to update and improve the Victorino Clubhouse and its computer lab. The Boys and Girls Club of Philadelphia is a nonprofit organization with a mission to help guide and enable all young people - especially those most in need - to reach their full potential and become productive, caring citizens.
