The Philadelphia Charity Ball held its 137th ball Nov. 25 at the Crystal Tea Room. Some 360 attended, including 10 debutantes and 16 members of the Young Men's Committee. The white-tie event included cocktails, dinner, dancing, and the presentation of the debutantes by their parents. The Philadelphia Charity Ball seeks to raise money for nonprofits focused on Philadelphia youths, and to encourage the young people of Philadelphia to make philanthropy a central part of their lives. Proceeds from the evening will benefit Special Olympics of Pennsylvania.
