The Philadelphia chapter of the Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis hosted its 13th annual Raise a Glass for the Cure on Dec. 2 at Vie in Philadelphia. The local chapter is part of the fund-raising arm of the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis, the world's most comprehensive spinal-cord injury research center. More than 350 people enjoyed cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, a silent auction, dancing, and dessert. Bryant M. Greene was honored with the Humanitarian of the Year Award, and Sgt. Christopher A. Fidler was honored with the Gerome and Betty Markopoulos Life Courage Award. The $150,000 in proceeds will support the ongoing research efforts of the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis and of the Magee Rehabilitation Hospital in Philadelphia.
