Yolanda, 17, is sweet and kindhearted, with an appealing personality that draws others to her. She is great in social situations and eagerly engages in conversations, even with people she is just meeting. Yolanda cares deeply about people and is passionate about giving back.

"I like to help people," she says.

Her social worker says, "Her passion for helping others and her level of compassion is remarkable for her age."

Yolanda had an opportunity to help others when she volunteered at a soup kitchen. Warmly welcomed by the staff, she happily assisted in preparing silverware packets and sandwiches for the evening meal.

In school, she is a favorite with her teachers and classmates and enjoys being a mentor to the younger children. She reaches out to them and is patient and accepting of their special needs.

Yolanda has experienced many disappointments and losses and yearns to be adopted. Family is very important to her, and she dreams of having a forever family that will share her passion for giving. Her social worker says that Yolanda would thrive in a loving, patient, and supportive family that would provide a structured environment for her. She is eligible for financial assistance.

Yolanda and other children are available for adoption. For information, contact Anna Coleman at the National Adoption Center.
