This week's Adopt-a-Pet at the Pennsylvania SPCA is Smuckers, a 1 1/2-year old husky-Shepherd mix.

Smuckers was brought to the PSPCA with a severely embedded collar, leading to a life-threatening neck wound. After extensive medical treatment at the PSPCA, Smuckers' neck wound has healed, although he wears a harness for walking.

Smuckers loves playing with other dogs and would love a new home with a canine brother or sister. Because he was so severely abused, his new family must be patient and understanding.

For more information about Smuckers, contact the PSPCA, 350 E. Erie Ave., at 215-426-6300, or visit www.pspca.org. Please provide his tag number, 1168341, when inquiring.

The $75 adoption fee includes neutering, vaccinations, microchipping, three weeks of care at the PSPCA's Rutherford Memorial Animal Hospital and 30 days of pet insurance.
