Found love on SEPTA? Spill your story & win

SEPTA officials announced a Valentine's Day-inspired contest yesterday that they're hoping will inspire people from all over Philadelphia to join hands and start a love train.

SEPTA officials announced a Valentine's Day-inspired contest yesterday that they're hoping will inspire people from all over Philadelphia to join hands and start a love train.

They're looking for stories of couples who found love on SEPTA, and the best story wins a chartered ride on a special El train.

In the first ever "Did you find love on SEPTA?" contest, riders are being asked to submit stories about how they found new love or reconnected with lost love while riding on a SEPTA train, bus or trolley, said Sylvana Hoyos, a SEPTA spokeswoman.

The "Love Train," a specially decorated Market Frankford Line six-car train, will take the winning couple on a romantic ride through West Philadelphia to view the Mural Arts Program's "Love Letter" project, Hoyos said.

The project consists of 50 rooftop murals from 45th to 63rd streets depicting love notes from a lover to his unrequited love.

The ride ends with a Mural Arts-sponsored champagne reception at SEPTA's Center City headquarters.

"We were thinking about a way to engage our riders directly and with Valentine's Day coming up, what better way to celebrate love than with a moving love story?" Hoyos said.

SEPTA is accepting submissions and the stories will be featured on SEPTA's Web site. Submissions can be sent to shoyos@septa.org until Feb. 1. The winner will be announced Feb. 5. Valentine's Day is Feb. 14.
