The weekend death of a Camden man shot in 2007 has been ruled a homicide after a medical examiner determined that the death was directly related to his gunshot wound, authorities said.

Wassin Darby, 20, died Sunday, about 4:30 a.m., at Kindred Hospital in Philadelphia, a care facility for the acutely ill.

Jason Laughlin, spokesman for the Camden County Prosecutor's Office, said Darby had returned home Nov. 11, 2007, and had run inside to charge his cell phone. When he went back outside, he was shot in front of his home on Princess Avenue. Friends rushed Darby to a nearby hospital, where officials notified police of the shooting.

Authorities ask that anyone with information about the shooting call Investigator Matt Woshnak of the Camden County Prosecutor's Office at 856-225-8400 or Camden Police Detective Julio Rios at 856-757-7420.
