Excerpts from local Pew Fellows winners

Four Philadelphia-area composers are among the winners of the 2007 Pew Fellows Music Compositions competition:

- Jamey Robinson, whose alternative-band work involves sampling and manipulating sounds.

- King Britt, an established Philadelphia DJ with a worldwide reputation.

- Peter Paulsen, principal bassist of the Allentown Symphony Orchestra, who works in both classical and jazz music.

- Gerald Levinson, a Swarthmore professor whose works have been performed by major orchestras.

The Pew program, in its 16th year, aims to identify artists at a critical juncture and give them the freedom to advance their artistic ambitions. Click on the links below to listen to excerpts:
