11 injured in W. Phila. SEPTA bus accident

Eleven people were taken to hospitals this morning after a SEPTA bus driver "experienced a medical incident," lost control of the bus, and struck a utility pole in West Philadelphia.

The Route 65 bus runs between Germantown Ave. and the 69th Street Terminal. It was traveling on westbound on Lansdowne Avenue about 10:10 a.m. when the accident occurred, said SEPTA spokeswoman Kristin Geiger. No other vehicles were involved.

None of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening, Geiger said.
