Authorities were called to a home on the 4900 block of North Front Street shortly after midnight for a report of a shooting. The gunfire took place both inside and outside a home on the block, police said, but it wasn't known what sparked the shooting.

Philadelphia police said a 20-year-old man was shot multiple times in his torso and was pronounced dead at Temple University Hospital at 12:36 a.m. He was not immediately identified.

Four others were injured in the shooting; all were reported to be in stable condition this morning.

Police said a 16-year-old girl was shot in her right arm and foot, a 17-year-old girl was shot in her left eye, a 22-year-old man was shot in his groin and both thighs, and a 28-year-old woman was shot in her left arm and left eye.

The 17-year-old and 28-year-old were taken to Temple's hospital; the 16-year-old and 22-year-old remain hospitalized at Einstein Medical Center.

No arrests have been made, and no suspect description was available.
