Lumberton slaying victim was 22-year-old Md. man

The man shot and killed Wednesday in Lumberton was Brandon Faust, 22, of Millersville, Md., Burlington County officials said yesterday. He was slain during a drug transaction that turned into a robbery attempt, they said.

Ariane Corbett, 18, of the 200 block of Manahawkin Trail in Browns Mills, one of three suspects in the shooting, appeared in state Superior Court in Mount Holly yesterday. Judge James J. Morley set bail at $500,000, and Corbett was returned to the Burlington County Detention Center.

Arrest warrants on murder charges were issued for Wendell T. Jones, 19, of Lafayette Avenue, Pemberton Township, and Alfonzo Nicholas, 16, of Lafayette Avenue's 200 block. Both were considered armed and dangerous.

Lumberton police and the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit are investigating.- Inquirer staff
