49-year-old man is fatally wounded

A 49-year-old man was found shot to death early yesterday near the Branch Village housing complex in Camden, officials said. Camden police responded to reports of a man shot near 10th Street and Central Avenue about 12:20 a.m. and found Eugene Jones, who lived in Branch Village, with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Cooper University Hospital, where he died a short time later.

Officials from the Prosecutor's Office and Camden police said their investigation indicated that Jones was standing outside when someone approached him and fired several shots. They believe the motive was robbery.
