Police arrested two Philadelphia men Monday night after the armed robbery of a Rite Aid store at 8130 Roosevelt Blvd. in the city's Rhawnhurst section, and suspect they may be involved in a series of drug store heists across the region.

There had been 16 similar robberies before Monday's, and a task force is investigating whether the two men and possibly others were involved with those crimes. The two men were charged by the state with robbery-related offenses Tuesday, but authorities did not immediately release their names. The two men were also expected to face federal charges, said Special Agent Steven Bartholomew, spokesman for the ATF's Philadelphia Field Division. - Jonathan Lai
