Cops: Security guard stabbed guest over photos

Party turns bloody after altercation between guard and guest.

A MAN WORKING security at a banquet-hall party Saturday in Germantown allegedly stabbed a party guest following a fight over photographs, police said.

The victim, a 48-year-old man, was attending a party at Temptations Banquet Facility on Chelten Avenue near Wayne Avenue. He was having pictures printed by a photographer about 1:30 a.m. when a 52-year-old security guard told the photographer to close up shop for the night, according to police.

An argument between the victim and the guard briefly turned physical, but the guard walked away, police said. About three minutes later, he returned with a knife and stabbed the victim once in his stomach, police said.

Even after being stabbed, the party guest continued to fight and eventually rendered the guard unconscious, police said.

Cops found the knife and took both men to Albert Einstein Medical Center. The stabbing victim was treated and released; the alleged offender was in stable condition. No IDs were released.
