Cops ask public for help identifying pair in possible kidnapping video
Police yesterday released surveillance video showing a possible kidnapping.
A WOMAN IN Spring Garden witnessed a possible abduction from her window yesterday, and police yesterday released video of the suspected kidnapping in hopes that the public can help identify the woman and her apparent abductor.
The witness, a 26-year-old woman, told police she heard a woman screaming for help and watched from her window as a man forcibly dragged the woman into his car about 4:15 p.m. yesterday on Green Street near 19th. Investigators later found surveillance video that captured the incident.
In the video, a man parks a black Chrysler coupe at the curb and accosts a woman walking past him on the sidewalk. The woman walks away from him, but he chases her down and hauls her to the car, where he shoves her into the back seat before driving east on Green Street. A passer-by passes the pair on the sidewalk but does not intervene.
The woman is described as black with a medium complexion, wearing a gray sweatshirt and black pants. The man is described as black, bald, wearing a dark-colored jacket. He drove a black Chrysler with a possible partial Pennsylvania tag "JFM."
Anyone who knows the identity of either person in the video is urged to call Central Detectives at 215-686-3093 or -3094 or 9-1-1.
