Pottstown police looking for man charged with murder

POTTSTOWN Authorities are looking for one of two men who have been charged in last week's murder at a Pottstown apartment.

POTTSTOWN Authorities are looking for one of two men who have been charged in last week's murder at a Pottstown apartment.

Pottstown police and the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office announced on Monday that murder and related charges have been filed against Daquan Hamilton, 20, and Khaleef Jones, 21. Both are from Philadelphia.

Jones already was in jail in Philadelphia on murder charges for a killing that occurred in May. Hamilton has not been found.

At 12:36 a.m. on Friday, Pottstown police went to the King Street Commons Apartments after receiving a report that shots had been fired.

Investigators say that that Jones and Hamilton, both carrying handguns, allegedly forced their way into one of the apartments and shot two of three men inside.

George Hashimbey, 22, was dead at the scene. The second shooting victim was taken to Reading Hospital in West Reading for treatment of gunshot wounds that were not life-threatening.

Anyone with information can call the Pottstown police department at 610-970-6570 or the Montgomery County detective bureau at 610-278-3368.
