Family Court gets new administrative judge

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court on Monday appointed a new administrative judge for Family Court in Philadelphia. Judge Margaret T. Murphy was named to replace Judge Kevin M. Dougherty, who was recently appointed administrative judge of the trial division of Common Pleas Court.

Judge Margaret T. Murphy was named to replace Judge Kevin M. Dougherty, who was recently appointed administrative judge of the trial division of Common Pleas Court.

Murphy, who was appointed to the bench in 2000, will direct the assignment of judges and other court personnel involved with juvenile and domestic relations cases. She earned her juris doctorate from Widener University School of Law, a master of law in taxation from Villanova University School of Law, and a bachelor's degree from Chestnut Hill College. - Robert Moran
