Upper Darby man found guilty of rape

The night watchman at an Upper Darby church on Thursday was found guilty of raping an 18-year-old woman who sought refuge for the night when she missed the last bus.

Troy Posey, 49, of Upper Darby, was found guilty of rape, sexual assault, indecent assault without consent and other related crimes. He will be sentenced in March before Judge James F. Nilon, Jr.

On March 22, the woman had been visiting a friend in Philadelphia and missed the bus to her home in West Chester. She went to Bethel Community Baptist Church to see if she could spend the night. Posey let her in and raped her numerous times, according to court documents.
