Man found shot dead in Kensington

A man was found shot dead execution style Wednesday morning on a street in Kensington.

The body was discovered about 7:15 a.m. on the 1900 block of Sterner Street, which dead ends at a freight rail line, police said.

The man, said to be in his late 20s or early 30s, had been shot once in the back of the head and was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.

Police did not immediately disclose who found the body. It also was not immediately clear if the man had been shot at the scene or if his body has been dumped there.

Homicide detectives are investigating.
