Driver killed when car slams into wall

A 26-year-old man was killed early Friday when he lost control of his car and it crashed into a wall in Southwest Philadelphia, police said.

A 26-year-old man was killed early Friday when he lost control of his car and it crashed into a wall in Southwest Philadelphia, police said.

Police said the driver, whose name was not immediately released, was "traveling at a high rate of speed' when he lost control of his 2011 Toyota Camry about 12:25 a.m. on the 5100 block of Grays Avenue, an industrial area.

The car slammed into a wall and then flipped on its roof police said.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
