Triple-homicide victims had extensive rap sheets

Police yesterday released the names of three men who were found shot to death Saturday night inside a Northeast Philadelphia home.
Their extensive rap sheets appear to lend credence to the widespread belief among neighbors that the execution-style slayings were drug-related.
The victims are Jason Stratos, 40, of Bristol; Sarith Mang, 30, of Logan; and Ramon Ortiz, 40, who lived in the house at Vista and Ditman streets in Holmesburg where a woman discovered the bodies Saturday night.
Court records show that Ortiz, who had used at least two aliases, had a lengthy criminal record, including arrests for drugs, trespassing, conspiracy, making a false report and carrying a firearm without a license. Ortiz's neighbors and his landlord said they knew him as "Lou."
Stratos had been arrested for drugs, gun violations, forgery, assault and other offenses. Mang had been arrested on gun and drug charges.
All three men were shot in the head. Police responded around 11:30 p.m. Saturday to the report of a woman screaming. The victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have not released a specific motive or made any arrests, but several neighbors told the Daily News that they had noticed a lot of people going in and out of the house. Ortiz had moved in over the summer, they said.
Two neighbors said they had previously witnessed furtive hand-to-hand exchanges outside the house that they believed were drug sales.
