Police say the suspect in a string of violent robberies in and around West Philadelphia has been apprehended.
Philadelphia police said U.S. marshals took Cartel Wright into custody overnight.
Wright, who is also known as Kevin Jones, had been wanted for a series of 10 robberies in the city dating to March.
He was apprehended on the 2100 block of College Avenue in the city's Fairmount section, police said.
A struggle ensued during the arrest, and Wright was taken to Mercy Hospital after complaining of chest pains, police said. One marshal suffered a minor hand injury.
Police said Wright's alleged crime spree began on March 25, when he threatened to shoot a store employee during a robbery at the Rite Aid at 5040 City Ave.
He held up that Rite Aid three more times last year, police said.
Authorities said Wright is also a suspect in robberies at two other Rite Aid stores, located at 5212 Baltimore Ave. and 5440 Lansdowne Ave., as well as the CVS at 7560 City Ave., the Family Dollar at 5814 Woodland Ave., and McDonald's restaurants at 7500 City Ave. and 5200 Chestnut St.
In the Lansdowne Avenue Rite Aid robbery, authorities said he also carjacked a Chrysler PT Cruiser in the parking lot, which was later recovered on the 1400 block of North 56th Street
The bulk of the robberies occurred in December and January, with the most recent occurring Jan. 12, according to police.
