E-waste collection is scheduled

BRISTOL TWP. Bucks County has canceled its annual electronic scrap collection this year for reasons that include the drop in value of used computer parts as well as the decline in recycling processors for TV tubes.

But the county has been able to partner with a Bristol Township middle school and an e-waste company to hold a collection March 28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is slated for Franklin D. Roosevelt Middle School, 1001 Veterans Highway.

The collection firm is E-Waste Experts Inc., a state-permitted and fully licensed company that focuses on data security and green initiatives.

Items that won't be accepted are those with refrigerants and aerosol propellants, such as air conditioners and refrigerators, as well as household hazardous waste that is not electronic.

For questions, contact Art Feltes, recycling coordinator for the county, at 215-345-3400. - Ben Finley
