CHAKA FATTAH JR., awaiting trial in a bank-fraud, case, said he's "collateral damage" in a Justice Department probe of his father.

Authorities believe Fattah Jr. misspent $200,000 in business loans along with funds from a federal education contract. Fattah Jr. is the son of U.S. Rep. Chaka Fattah Sr., a 10-term Philadelphia Democrat.

Prosecutors say the son used the money for a lavish condo, luxury cars and casinos. Fattah Jr., 32, insists he's done nothing wrong.

He's persuaded a federal appeals court to delay the trial this month while it reviews the charges.

Fattah Jr.'s college roommate has pleaded guilty in the case. And two of Fattah Sr.'s former aides have pleaded guilty in a probe of the congressman.
