NORRISTOWN The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission is expanding its youth trout fishing program.
Anglers under age 16 can get mentored youth fishing permits to fish alongside an adult mentor in approved trout waters stocked by the state.
"There are many beautiful locations throughout Montgomery County to spend an afternoon on the water," county treasurer Jason Salus said in an announcement of the program.
Permits and fishing licenses are available in the Montgomery County Treasurer's Office.
The first youth trout day is scheduled for Saturday in Southeastern Pennsylvania, and a statewide mentored youth trout day will follow on April 11.
Mentors and children can each keep two trout, measuring at least seven inches, from the fishing days.
