Police seek help identifying incoherent woman

Philadelphia police are trying to identify a woman who has been hospitalized after being found disoriented on a West Philadelphia street.

Philadelphia police are trying to identify a woman who has been hospitalized after being found disoriented on a West Philadelphia street.

A medic unit responding to a call found the unkempt woman about 10:10 a.m. on the 5400 block of Chestnut Street, police said.

She had no injuries, but the medics took her to Misericordia Hospital for evaluation, police said. An officer went to the hospital and spoke to the woman in Mandarin, but she became agitated and would not give her name.

The woman had no personnel possessions with her and was wearing red hospital slippers, a purple sweater, and gray sweat pants when found.

On Thursday, the woman was incoherent when police tried to speak to her for a second time.

She is described as 30 to 50 years old; 5-feet, 1-inch tall and weighing 130 pounds. She has black hair and is missing her front lower teeth.

Anyone with information is asked to call Southwest Detectives at 215-686-3183 / 3184 or call 911.
