Philadelphia police are searching for a Hunting Park man suspected of trying to abduct two women - and sexually assaulting one of them - on May 1.

Police identified the man as Manuel Cintron, 24, of the 4000 block of North 6th Street.

The first incident took place at 4:20 a.m., police said, when a man threatened a woman with a handgun at 12th and Ruscomb Streets in Logan. Police said he tried to force the woman into his car, parked at the corner, but she was able to fight him off, run to a SEPTA bus for help, and tell police of the incident.

About an hour later, another woman, 22, was walking on the 2000 block of East York Street in Kensington when a man approached her, pointed a handgun at her and forced her into a minivan, police said.

Police said the man drove her a short distance, sexually assaulted her, and let her out at Almond and Brown Streets.

Police described the van as a Dodge or Chrysler, possibly from the 1990s.

Anyone with information about the incident or on Citron's whereabouts is asked to contact the police's Special Victims Unit at 215-685-3251, or to call 911.
