Amtrak injured: 20 remain hospitalized; 5 critical, 1 serious

Area hospitals said Sunday that 20 passengers on the Amtrak train that derailed on Tuesday remained hospitalized, with five in critical condition and one listed as serious. The derailment killed eight people and injured more than 200 others.

Area hospitals said Sunday that 20 passengers on the Amtrak train that derailed on Tuesday remained hospitalized, with five in critical condition and one listed as serious. The derailment killed eight people and injured more than 200 others.

The injured and where they were being treated:

Eight patients remained at Temple University Hospital, three of them in critical condition.

Three patients were still hospitalized at Aria Health, Torresdale campus, one in critical condition and two in stable condition.

Three patients remained at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, none of them in critical condition.

At Hahnemann Medical Center, three patients remained, one in serious condition and two considered fair to good.

Two patients remained hospitalized at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, one in critical but stable condition, and the other in fair condition.

One patient remained hospitalized at Einstein Medical Center in good condition.   - Linda Loyd
