His manager, Vanzil Burke, said the cause was complications after suffering a stroke.

Mr. Rey's career in show business spanned more than 30 years. His film credits include Harlem Nights, House Party 3, For Da Love of Money, and Far Out Man. Mr. Rey also appeared in the TV series 227, Sister, Sister, and The Parent 'Hood.

Mr. Rey started his career as a stand-up comedian. He opened for Redd Foxx for several years. - AP
