Firefighters knock down 3-alarm warehouse blaze in Southwest Philly

Firefighters battled a stubborn warehouse fire that climbed to three alarms before being declared under control Wednesday night in Southwest Philadelphia, officials said. The blaze was reported shortly after 8:30 p.m. at 2000 S. 71st St., officials said.

The building was described as two stories and about 200 feet long. Shortly after 9 p.m., the second alarm was struck. The fire had engulfed most of the structure before it was extinguished about 11 p.m.
