A man was pistol-whipped during a home invasion in Nicetown early Thursday morning, police said.

Two masked men forced their way through the front door of a house on the 1500 block of West Butler Street around 5:30 a.m., police said.

A 45-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman were inside at the time. Police said the intruders pistol-whipped the man several times, cutting his head. He was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he was in stable condition Thursday.

The men made off with an X-Box that they later dumped in the street, police said. - Aubrey Whelan
