Couples interested in having a holiday wedding at the historic Smithville Mansion in Eastampton can contact the Burlington County Clerk's Office to arrange an appointment.

Couples interested in having a holiday wedding at the historic Smithville Mansion in Eastampton can contact the Burlington County Clerk's Office to arrange an appointment.

Clerk Tim Tyler announced he will hold the weddings Friday from 4 to 7 p.m., continuing a tradition at the mansion, which is decorated for the holidays.

"Holiday weddings have been extremely popular over the years," Tyler said in a statement. "It is my pleasure once again to offer couples the unique opportunity to exchange vows at the Smithville Mansion, a gorgeous and historic venue."

Tyler said there are a limited number of appointments available, so interested couples should contact his office as soon as possible, at 609-265-5142. The couples must also obtain a marriage license from their municipality, which must be done 72 hours in advance. Exceptions to the deadline may be granted through a waiver. For information on that process, couples may contact Heather Cheesman at the clerk's office.

Eastampton Township Clerk Kim-Marie White will attend the ceremonies and provide same-day certified copies of marriage certificates. A certified copy costs $20, payable by check or cash.

A current driver's license will be required along with a completed vital records request form, which can be found on the Eastampton Township Web page found at http://www.eastampton.com/ and by clicking on "Registrar of Vital Statistics." - Jan Hefler
