Woman killed in East Falls crash

A woman was killed Tuesday morning in a two-car crash in East Falls.

The woman was driving on Abbottsford Avenue near Fox Street when her vehicle struck a pole, flipped over and then hit a van, Philadelphia police said.

The woman, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which happened shortly before 7:30 a.m.

No injuries were immediately reported to anyone in the other vehicle, police said.

The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
