CANTON, Pa. - Police say that an early morning accident Sunday involving a bus in southwestern Pennsylvania sent more than two dozen people to hospitals, but that no passengers were seriously injured.

State police in Washington County say a sport utility vehicle heading west on Interstate 70 veered into the lane occupied by the bus just before 4:30 a.m. The bus was sideswiped by the SUV, went onto the median and hit a guardrail and a light post before rolling over onto the driver's side.

Police say the bus driver, ejected through the windshield, was flown to a hospital and listed in fair condition.

Police said about 25 passengers were treated for minor injuries at local hospitals. Police said the SUV driver, who was uninjured, would be cited for careless driving and other violations.
