N.J. man charged with sex assault on Delco tot

A New Jersey man has been charged with the sexual assault of a 5-year-old Haverford Township child, Delaware County, child, police said Tuesday.

Michael S. Goodwin, 40, of Swedesboro, identified as the boyfriend of the victim's mother and a part-time caregiver of the child, was charged with aggravated indecent assault of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, endangering the welfare of a child, and related crimes.

Goodwin, who formerly lived in the 7900 block of Dungan Road,in Philadelphia, was arraigned Tuesday and remanded to the Delaware County jail after failing to post $75,000 cash bail, police said.

The arrest was the result of an investigation that began last week.
