Two men killed in separate shootings
Two men were killed in separate shootings in Philadelphia on Tuesday, police said. About 9:45 p.m., police received a report of a shooting and found Jeffrey Jarvis, 26, on the 3000 block of North Carlisle Street in North Philadelphia. He had been shot several times in the chest and legs.

Jarvis, of East Germantown, was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 10 p.m.
No arrests had been made Wednesday, and police specified no motive. Police did not have a description of any suspects.
About an hour later, at 11:06 p.m., a person with a gun was reported on the 6600 block of Crowson Street in East Mount Airy.
Police found a 49-year-old man in the street who had been shot. Police took him to Einstein Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead about 10 minutes later.
The man had been wounded twice in the right side of his chest and once in an upper arm.
Police described his assailant as a black man, six feet tall, with a thin build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a black skull cap, and a mask that covered his face. Police said the man had been seen running south on Crowson Street and then east on Hortter Street toward Chew Avenue.
No arrests had been made, and police did not specify a motive in the case.
