One killed, one wounded in West Phila. shootings

One man was killed and another critically wounded in separate shootings Wednesday night in West Philadelphia, police said. Shortly after 7:45 p.m., police responded to the unit block of North Redfield Street, where they found a victim, described as in his late 20s, shot once in the head. Officers took him to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 9:29 p.m. Police found a pair of dice at the shooting scene.

Shortly after 8, a man believed to be about 20 was shot in the head near 60th and Manning Streets. Police transported him to Penn Presbyterian, where he was reported in extremely critical condition.
