A man was killed Saturday afternoon after he apparently jumped in front of a PATCO train at the Woodcrest station in Cherry Hill, said a spokesman for the Delaware River Port Authority.
The incident, which occurred shortly after 4 p.m., shut down service as emergency crews responded, said DRPA spokesman Mike Williams. The man's name and age were not released. Williams said he was elderly.
Service on the entire transit line was suspended temporarily, and then restored for most stops through Haddonfield. Buses shuttled passengers between the final three stations, Williams said.
Shortly after 7 p.m., full train service was restored.
