Other big local lottery wins in recent days include an $8.3 million New Jersey Lottery Pick-6 jackpot won by a Gloucester County ticket and a Chester County ticket that split an $800,000 jackpot in a Pennsylvania Cash 5 drawing.
The lucky Philadelphia Mega Millions ticket matched all five white balls drawn Friday (20, 41, 42, 45 and 49) but missed the Mega Ball of 14, falling short of the $415 million jackpot. The ticket was purchased with the megaplier option, making it worth $2 million.
It was sold at Yorty's Deli, located at 5932 Torresdale Ave., lottery officials said. The retailer gets a $10,000 bonus.
No one won the top prize, pushing the jackpot to $449 million, or $313 million cash, for Tuesday's drawing.
The jackpot, the game's third-largest ever, has been rising since it was last hit on March 8.
The only two bigger jackpots have been the $648 million pot shared by two tickets that won the Dec. 17, 2013, drawing, and the $656 million split by three tickets on March 30, 2012.
In Friday's game, a ticket sold in Oklahoma also won $2 million, while Massachusetts and New York tickets won $1 million each.
The jackpot in Powerball, the other major multi-state lottery game, is also rising after no one won this weekend.
The top prize for Wednesday's drawing stands at $257 million for the annuity, or $179.7 million cash.
In other lottery news, a ticket sold in Gloucester County that won $8.3 million by matching all six numbers (2, 12, 16, 17, 29 and 34) drawn in Monday's Pick-6 game, New Jersey Lottery officials said.
The ticket was purchased at Buck Road Mini Mart, located at 600 Buck Road in Monroeville.
Another recent local win was a Chester County ticket that split an $800,000 Pennsylvania Cash 5 jackpot.
The ticket matched all five numbers drawn Monday: 2, 5, 11, 24 and 32.
The winner was sold at Berwyn News Agency, located at 640 Lancaster Ave. in Berwyn, lottery officials said.
The ticket, along with one sold in Luzerne County, is worth $400,000. Each retailer gets a $500 bonus.
