One person dies in fire at 10-story apartment building in Northeast Philly
An early-morning fire at 10-story apartment building in the Bustleton section of Northeast Philadelphia claimed the life of one resident on Sunday, Philadelphia Fire Capt. William Dixon said.
An early-morning fire at 10-story apartment building in the Bustleton section of Northeast Philadelphia claimed the life of one resident on Sunday, Philadelphia Fire Capt. William Dixon said.
The fire broke out around 6 a.m. on the 2300 block of Tremont Street. Dixon said the cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation.
Despite a "valiant effort" by firefighters, Dixon confirmed that there was a fatality as a result of the blaze. He declined to provide the age or gender of the victim.
Early unconfirmed reports from a breaking news service said the victim was a 61-year-old woman.
