An Atlantic City police sergeant broke-up a strong-arm robbery over the weekend and took the perpetrator in custody, police said Monday.

About 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Sgt. James Herbert was on patrol when he saw what appeared to be a fight in the 400 block of Arctic Avenue. As he approached, he realized a man in a ski mask was choking with one hand and beating with the other an older man.

Herbert arrested Dondre Ford-Nesbitt, 18, of Atlantic City. Ford-Nesbitt, who allegedly already had taken some items from the victim, was charged with robbery. His bail was set at $75,000. The victim, described as a 61-year-old man from Salem County, was treated at the scene by medical personnel.
