Woman reports being beaten, sexually assaulted beneath LOVE Park

A 27-year-old woman told police she was beaten and sexually assaulted Wednesday in the parking garage beneath Love Park, police said.

Police were called to the parking garage at 1501 JFK Blvd. just after 11:50 a.m. and found the woman bleeding from her head. Medics took her to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition before walking out against the advice of medical staff, police said.

The woman was with an unknown man when she was hit in the head with an object and sexually assaulted. Police said she had been "engaged in an act" with the man prior to the assault but did not elaborate. - Robert Moran
