A man believed to be in his mid-20s was shot several times, at least once in the head, on the west side of Chester City Saturday night.
According to police, the shooting took place about 9:30 p.m. in the 2700 block of Bethel Road.
The man, who was not identified, was transported to Crozer-Chester Medical Center, where his condition was unknown.
Detectives were still working the scene Saturday night.
According to an Inquirer analysis published in September, Chester has the highest homicide rate of any city in America. Measured for every 100,000 people, Chester's homicide rate averaged 53 a year between 2000 and 2014, outranking all U.S. cities in that span.
