A man was shot twice - in the back and in the head - Sunday in Port Richmond, police said.

The 30-year-old man, whose name was not released by police, was in critical but stable condition at Temple University Hospital, officers reported.

The shooting occurred around 12:50 p.m. on the 2900 block of Martha Street, police said. No arrests have been made and no weapon was recovered. - Jason Laughlin

Two Philly police cars collide in Point Breeze

Two police cars collided Sunday in Point Breeze while responding to a report of a suspect fleeing on foot from a stolen vehicle, police said.

The vehicles struck each other on the 1500 block of 26th Street around 7 p.m. while responding to the call of a foot pursuit. Both vehicles needed to be towed from the scene. One officer was injured, but declined medical treatment. The suspect was taken into custody.
