Arrests made in abortion doctor case
Arrests have been made in the case of abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell.
State health officials have called his abortion clinic "a clear danger to the public."
Now Kermit Gosnell, the West Philadelphia abortion doctor whose dirty clinic was closed earlier this year due to multiple violations, has to answer to Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams. Williams is expected to announce several arrests in the year-long investigation into Gosnell's practice at a news conference scheduled for 10:30 a.m. this morning.
Gosnell, 70, ran the Womens Medical Society on Lancaster Avenue near 38th Street. In March, the Pennsylvania Department of Health cited the clinic for more than a dozen violations of state law and has been accusing of delaying a report to the state about a patient who died in November after going into cardiac arrest at the clinic.
UPDATE: Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams announced the results of a grand-jury investigation into Gosnell's practice, in which grand jurors allege Gosnell killed at least two women, injured "scores" more, killed hundreds of viable babies and committed other atrocities.
