Child shot in North Coventry Township

A child was shot Friday night in North Coventry Township.

The incident happened shortly before 5 p.m. on the unit block of West Main Street.

An emergency dispatcher said the child, believed to be between the ages of 8 and 10 years old, was shot in the leg and rushed to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in unknown condition.

There was not yet word on a motive Friday night, and no arrests were reported. Additional details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting were not immediately available.
