The Coatesville Veterans Affairs Medical Center will host a job fair on Sept. 11, officials announced last week.

The medical center is partnering with Pennsylvania CareerLink Chester County to host the Welcome Home Veterans Job Fair, and all veterans are welcome to meet with area employers.

"As a nation, it is our responsibility to ensure that our veterans have opportunities when they come home," Gary W. Devansky, the medical center's director, said in a statement.

The medical center expects representatives of more than 30 employers, including Aramark, Sherwin Williams, Krapf's Coaches, Visionworks, and the YMCA of Greater Brandywine.

Veterans who attend also can learn about federal jobs and Veterans Affairs health care and benefits.

"Veterans make great employees," said Kathleen Pomorski, spokeswoman for the medical center. "They're known to be skilled and hardworking."

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Building 5 in the Great Hall.

Attendees should bring resumes; professional licenses, certificates or college transcripts; discharge papers, and service-connected disability award letters.

Veterans can call Audrey Hall at 610-384-7711, ext. 2831 for more information.
